Walid

WALID
Nawî çîye? Walid.
Jak se jmenuješ? Walid.
Tamanit çende? Çwarde.
Kolik ti je? Čtrnáct.
Co cítíš když vstáváš se sluncem
abys dal napít svým šetseti ovcím
O čem přemyšlíš když je hlídáš
celý den ve stínu vojenských základen
O čem se ti zdá když usínáš
při tlumeném svitu olejové
lampy aby tě skrze střechu
stanu z husté černé vlny
nezaznamenaly turecké drony.
Raketa, která nám prolétla nad hlavou
trhala vzduch i naše vnitřnosti
odtrhla kus skály
jen pár kilometrů za námi
Já po obědě odjedu ale ty
v Kělašínu do podzimu zůstaneš
Setkáme se ještě?
Setkáme se ještě?
Walid.
-------------------------------------------------------

WALID
Nawî çiye? Walid.
What’s your name? Walid.
Tamanit çenda? Çwarda.
How old are you? Fourteen.
What do you feel as you rise up with the sun
to quench the thirst of six hundred sheep
What do you contemplate about
as you watch your sheep all day
under the shadow of the military bases
What do you dream about when you fall asleep
in the dim light of an oil lamp
hoping the Turkish drones will not register you
through the roof of the tent made of thick black wool
Nawî çiye? Walid.
What’s your name? Walid.
Tamanit çenda? Çwarda.
How old are you? Fourteen.
The rocket that flew over our heads
was tearing the air and our insides
it ripped apart a piece of mountain
just a few kilometers behind us
After lunch I will leave
but you will stay in Kêlaşîn until the autumn
Will we meet again?
Will we meet again?
Walid.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kêlaşîn is a vast plateau in Southern Kurdistan (in Iraq) on the borders with Eastern Kurdistan (in Iran) and Northern Kurdistan (in Turkey). From spring to autumn, it serves as temporary home for hundreds of families who come here from villages in the valleys to graze their flocks of sheep and goats. Like Walid, the families live in tents made of thick black wool and go to sleep each night thinking about whether they would wake up in the morning. Despite the attacks of two armies armed with sophisticated weapons, families return to Kêlaşîn every spring, just as their ancestors have done since time immemorial.
The defiance of ancient life against modern death.

Naříkej

|

NAŘÍKEJ NAD SMRTÍ svých pánů
NAŘÍKEJ NAD SMRTÍ svých vládců
padali ze svých nebetyčných věží
PADALI K ZEMI a křičeli:
nás nikdy nikdo nezastaví
nás nikdy nikdo nezastaví
nás nikdy nezastaví nic!
NAŘÍKEJ NAD SMRTÍ svých pánů
NAŘÍKEJ NAD SMRTÍ svých vládců
padali k zemi a za nimi padaly
i jejich nebetyčné věže
A S NIMI JSI PADAL I TY
A S NIMI JSI PADALA I TY
na sutinách jejich věží za svitu měsíce
ty prokleté, zašlapaní a poslední
tancem oslaví vítězství
pak nastane nový den
a za rozbřesku začnem stavět zahrady
aby nezbylo nic
z čeho stavět znova věže
na sutinách jejich věží
pak spolu postavíme zahrady
na sutinách jejich věží
pak TANCEM OSLAVÍME VÍTĚZSTVÍ
---------------------------------------------------
MOURN the death of your masters
MOURN the death of those who rule
they were falling from their towers reaching to the heavens
while falling down they kept on screaming:
no one will ever stop us
nothing will ever stop us!
MOURN the death of your masters
MOURN the death of those who rule
they were falling down and behind them
their towers reaching to the heavens were falling
and with them, YOU WERE FALLING TOO
and with them, YOU WERE FALLING TOO.
on the ruins of their towers
by the light of the moon
those who were cursed, crushed and the last
will dance celebrating victory
and a new day will break
while the sun be rising
we will begin to build gardens
until there is nothing left
from which towers could be built again
on the rubbles of their towers
WE WILL BUILD GARDENS TOGETHER
on the rubbles of their towers
WE WILL DANCE CELEBRATING VICTORY.

Umírá náš svět
02:08
|
|||
co bude až umře náš svět?
co bude až umře náš svět?
umře s ním útlak člověka nad člověkem
umřou s ním unie, státy a hranice
umře s ním zbrojní průmysl a všechny další
umřou peníze a práce, kterou řídí systém poptávky
umře bezohledný svět
spadne lidské pýchy věž
umře náboženství říše
skončí svět ,který chce krev
města lehnou popelem anebo utopena v moři
zdroje zůstanou přírodními a ne zdroji války
nezbudou už žádní páni
a nebudeš už otrokyni ani otrokem
co bude až umře náš svět
co bude až umře náš svět
není snad smrt nový začátek
není snad smrt nový začátek
------------------------------------
what will there be when our world dies
what will there be when our world dies
oppression of a human over a human will die with it
unions, states and borders will die with it
armament industry and all others will die with it
money and work that's controlled by the system of demand will die too
a ruthless world will die
a tower built of human pride will fall
religions of the empire will die
a world that desires blood will end
what will there be when our world dies
what will there be when our world dies
cities will burn to the ground or end up drowned in the sea
resources will remain natural and not sources of war
there will no masters left
and you won't be a slave anymore.
what will there be when our world dies
what will there be when our world dies
isn't death but a new beginning
isn't death but a new beginning??

Tváří v tvář
02:55
|
|||
a někdy víc
tváří v tvář satanovi našeho lidství
tváří v tvář peklu do kterého jsme uvrhli celou zemi
a někdy víc
a v naších srdcích najdem cestu jedni/y k druhým
---------------------------------------------------
in the face of the remains of a body torn to pieces by a turkish rocket
in the face of a child behind the bars of the camp of Moria
in the face of my own self I search for hope
I seek hope
to us who live fighting for a more just world
one step ahead seems like taking two or three steps backwards
in the face of satan of our humanity
in the face of hell that we cast our world into
in the face of the imagination of humans to perpetrate unimaginable evil
one step ahead seems like taking two or three steps backwards
there is hardly much left for me than to believe
that one day the words of the wise of the past
will be fulfilled
and we will find a path that we can walk on together
whether this becomes reality or not -- there is hardly much left for me than to believe in what is just
whether this becomes reality or not -- there is hardly much left for me than to keep on fighting without a weapon

Nastal čas
03:08
|
|||
končí civilizace počatá násilím a nespravedlností
----------------------------------------------------------
THE TIME HAS COME to bury the world we grew up in
alienated from our own selves, from the one who gives life and from other beings
the strongholds of our security, privileges and opportunities are collapsing
the civilization conceived by violence and injustice has come to its end
say farewell to the world written by conquerors, rulers and white scientists
leave the centers of power that keep on clenching fists though dying in convulsions
on the edge of the world you know, you will find the way to compassion, to acceptance and to yourself
and among the people of many worlds you will find the one who gives life in fullness
it is time to bury the world we grew up in
it's time...

What did you learn

What did you learn in school today?
(inspired by Pete Seeger)
What did you learn in school today
dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today
dear little boy of mine?
Ve škole nás dneska učili,
že islám do evropy nepatří
místo tady není pro čtyřicet dětí
jsme přece hrdými křesťany
jen ať navalí svou ropu a plyn
za smrt v Białowieży si můžou sami.
What did you learn in school today
dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today
dear little boy of mine?
Ve škole nás dneska učili,
že Putin do evropy nepatří
sto tisíc dětí tu můžeme mít
jsme přece hrdými Slovany
jen ať navalí svou ropu a plyn
za smrt Aleppa můžeme my
jen ať navalí svou ropu a plyn
za smrt Mariupolu můžeme my.
What did you learn in school today
dear little boy of mine?

Píseň Země
03:02
|
|||
vše co se rodí / vše co umírá
všechno zpívá píseň země
co můžeme vědět o bohu
bez ní bez naší matky
bez květin které ho milují
bez větru a vody jež o něm vypráví
je tu pro všechny nejen pro bohaté
je svatá - každý jednotlivý list
je svatá - moře a země
je svatá - světlo a tma
je svatá - včera dnes i zítra
nenech nás žít a nemyslet na ní
chceme zachovat její rytmus
nechat zářit její štěstí
vše co se rodí / vše co umírá
všechno zpívá píseň země
nesápej se po ní
nepatří tobě
nedá se koupit
učím se ji léčit
--------------------
SONG OF THE EARTH
everything that is being born
everything that is dying
everytthing sings the song of the Earth
what can we know about god
without her, our mother
without the flowers that love them
without the wind and water that tell of them
she is for everyone
not only for the rich
she is sacred
every single leaf
she is sacred
the sea and the land
she is sacred
darknes and light
she is sacred
yesterday, today and tomorrow
don't let us live
without thinking of her
we want to keep her rhythm
and let her happiness shine
everything that is being born
everything that is dying
everytthing sings the song of the Earth
do not touch her
she does not belong to you
you can not buy her
I am learning to heal her
[in the memory of Dorothee Sölle]

Oheň Newrozu
03:16
|
|||
vidím na obzoru
hořet oheň Newrozu
kolébku kultur, tisíce let příběhů
nezničily impéria a války
a nerozdrtí ani další turecká invaze
od vrcholku Agirî po Şarazûr zní
píseň naděje a tanec života
který mění běh dějin
Svoboda je víc než přežít!
Kurdistán povstává z popela
fosforových bomb a vypálených vesnic
a zazáří brzy jako první oheň Newrozu
Kawa už nebude mýtickým příběhem
ale budeš jim ty a budu jím já
a naším kladivem bude solidarita
vidím na obzoru
hořet oheň Newrozu
-----------------------------------------
--------------------------------
THE FIRE OF NEWROZ
I can see on the horizon
the burning fire of Newroz
the craddle of cultures and millenia of stories
have not been destroyed by empires and wars
and will not be crushed by yet another turkish invasion
from the peak of Agirî to Şarazûr
resounds a song of hope and a dance of life
that is changing the course of history
Freedom is so much more than mere survival!
Kurdistan rises from the ashes of posphorus bombs
and villages burned to the ground
soon, it will shine like the first fire of Newroz
Kawa will not stay being a mythical story
but you and I will become him
and our hammer will be our solidarity.
I CAN SEE ON THE HORIZON
THE BURNING FIRE OF NEWROZ
----------------------------------------------------
In the past 12 years, Kurdistan, the land of ancient and diverse cultures, has become my home and the solidarity with the resistance against invasion and cross-border bombardments has become an indispensable part of my everyday life.
Nothing equals the view from the village of Rûste (in southern Kurdistan) at the bonfires being lit up, one after another and then another and another, down both slopes of the entire length of the deeply green valley up to the snowy mountainous horizon reddened by the rays of the last sunset of the year. Newroz (March 21) marks the beginning of the Kurdish year, as well as the anticipation of radical and transforming events that will lead to freedom from foreign rule and oppression. According to an ancient legend, after the blacksmith Kawa crushed the head of a despotic ruler with his hammer, the news of liberation from the tyrant spread throughout the land through bonfires lit on the mountain ranges from horizon to horizon.
From the "Mount of Fire" Agrî (also known as Ararat) in the north to the fertile plains of Şarazûr in the south (and of course from Mehabad to Efrîn and beyond), far-reaching changes are taking place not only through guerrilla warfare but mainly through nonviolent resistance and radical initiatives that are led by women, youth, civil society and all those who stood up to oppression and chose life and freedom as their way.
You too can join...
